About the Collection
Tosh Fomby is a Georgia-born visual artist whose vibrant paintings, printmaking, and animation explore African American life, history, and culture. Her work is deeply rooted in nostalgia, memory, and representation—blending personal storytelling with broader social narratives.
At its heart, Tosh Fomby’s art is an act of cultural reclamation. Through vivid portraits with found objects, and character-filled dolls and animation, she invites viewers to reflect on the strength, complexity, and dignity of African American life. Her art honors the past while engaging with ongoing dialogues about representation and history.
